I believe that Ms. Browne Sanders did in fact have the basis for a sexual harassment suit because her claims of retaliation from management after coming out about the verbal abuse and sexual harassment from her superiors, to me, are proven by her being let go shortly after bringing them to light. Not only that, but the jury found her case compelling enough to award her the $11 million (Sandomir, 2007). Sexual harassment cases like this are hard to make due to the reliance on the credibility of those involved (the victim and the perpetrator), one of which has it in his best interest to deny the claims outright. This leaves the victim in a vulnerable situation where retaliation can occur, such as this, because of the “he said she said” nature of the issue. A study done in 2023 showed the decline of women who report their harassment from 66% the previous year down to 59% (Cox, 2023). This was…
