Concept explainers
Define physiology. Describe the relationship between physiology and anatomy.

To determine: The definition of physiology.
Introduction: Various branches of study dealing with the different aspects of the life of a particular organism. These different branches of study might have a relationship with each other or can act like entirely different branches.
Explanation of Solution
Physiology can be defined as the branch of science that is associated with the physical parameters and chemical functioning of all the parts of a body of a living organism.
Physiology deals with physical and chemical aspects of the living system.

To determine: The relationship between the physiology and the anatomy.
Introduction: Anatomy and physiology are interrelated with each other. Both the branches of study work in a coordinated manner for the developmental aspects of the living system.
Explanation of Solution
Anatomy is the branch of science that deals with the study of internal structures of living organisms. The study at the tissue level of organization is included in the anatomy. The physical and chemical processes also occur in the internal body structures of a living organism.
There is a need to study the internal structures of a living organism for the study of physical and chemical processes of metabolic pathways.
