Dr. Carl S. Warren is the Arthur Andersen & Co. Alumni Professor of Accounting at the J.M. Tulle School of Accounting at the University of Georgia, Athens. Professor Warren received his Ph.D. from Michigan State University in 1973. Dr. Warrens experience in listening to users of his text sharpens his keen focus on helping students learn. When he is not teaching classes or writing textbooks, Dr. Warren enjoys golf, racquetball, and fishing.
Reeve, James M. : University of Tennessee, Memphis
Jim Reeve is the Deloitte and Touche Professor of Enterprise Information Management at the University of Tennessee. Professor Reeve has been on the accounting faculty since 1980, after graduating with the Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University. His teaching effort has focused on management education in the College's MBA, MAcc, and EMBA programs. Beyond this, Jim is also very active in the Lean Enterprise Institute, which is a major executive education and research effort of the College. Reeve's research interests are varied and include work in managerial accounting, supply chain management, lean manufacturing, and information management. He has published over 40 articles in academic and professional journals, including the Journal of Cost Management, Journal of Management Accounting Research, Accounting Review, Management Accounting, and Accounting Horizons. In addition to his research, Jim is also a co-author on six textbooks
including South-Western Publishing's market leading introductory textbook, Accounting. He has consulted or provided training around the world for a wide variety of organizations including, Boeing, AlliedSignal, Procter and Gamble, Harris Corporation, Freddie Mac, AMOCO, Lockheed Martin, Coca-Cola, and Philips
Consumer Electronics.
Fess, Philip E. : University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Dr. Philip E. Fess is the Arthur Andersen & Co. Alumni Professor of Accountancy Emeritus at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. He received his Ph.D from the University of Illinois. Dr. Fess has been involved in writing textbooks for over twenty-five years, and his knowledge of how to make texts user-friendly is
reflected on the pages of this edition. Dr. Fess plays golf and tennis, and he has represented the United States in international tennis competition.
