Interpretation:The number of molecules of oxygen in a pound mole of air at 1atm and 0°C and number of molecules of oxygen in kilogram mole of air at 1atm and 30°C is to be calculated.

Concept introduction: The number of molecules of any atom in a molecule is calculated by multiplying the number of moles of an atom with the Avogadro number.

The pound mole is to be converted into g mole and kilogram mole is to be converted into g mole.

The formula for calculating number of molecules is

  The number of molecules = The number of g mol×Avogadro's number

The number of molecules of an atom is not affected by the temperature and pressure.
