The contribution of alchemical, medical and technological traditions to the development of the science of chemistry is to be determined.
Concept introduction:
The chemical arts and the origin of modern chemistry include the following three traditions:
1. Alchemical traditions: This study began in the 1st century AD and dominated for about 1500 years. The alchemists invented observations and experiments.
2. Medical tradition: In this, the extracts and distillates of roots and herbs are used for medicinal purposes. It also stated that illness could be treated with drugs.
3. Technological tradition: In this tradition, books were published about how to make glass and gunpowder, how to use furnaces and crucibles and how to purify gold and silver.
