You are asked to obtain a radiograph on a patient who sustained an "Inversion" turning inward ankle sprain to rule oout a fracture. When considering the structure of the ankle joint and associated bones, which of the following answers is (are) correct? PLEASE CHOOSE ALL CORRECT ANSWERS. O The ankle joint is a "mortise" type joint O The dome of the talus is rounded anteriorly to posteriorly to allow sagittal plane "hinge like" motion primarily. O The medial malleolus extends more distally than the lateral malleolus allowing more inversion (turning inward) than eversion (turning outward) O The ankle joint is shaped more like a rounded ball in a cup like socket which allow a lot of motion. O All of these statements are correct

You are asked to obtain a radiograph on a patient who sustained an "inversion" (turning inward) ankle sprain to rule out a fracture. When considering the structure of the ankle joint and associated bones, which of the following answers is (are) correct? PLEASE CHOOSE ALL CORRECT ANSWERS.
- The ankle joint is a "mortise" type joint.
- The dome of the talus is rounded anteriorly to posteriorly to allow sagittal plane "hinge like" motion primarily.
- The medial malleolus extends more distally than the lateral malleolus allowing more inversion (turning inward) than eversion (turning outward).
- The ankle joint is shaped more like a rounded ball in a cup-like socket which allow a lot of motion.
- All of these statements are correct.
Expert Solution

Step 1
Ankle sprains start with strength from grade I to grade three. An easy way to separate these injuries into two groups: complex and complex. Severe ankle sprains were treated without surgery. It includes injuries unrelated to the accompanying problems as opposed to initial movements and rehabilitation. Complex ankle muscles often require surgical management. Note, late delay is common after surgical treatment after ineffective treatment for severe ankle ligament injury. In addition, late reconstruction is effective for patients who were initially treated without surgery.
