After the Second World War, the Cold War begins and was considered as an open but restricted rivalry between the United States and the Soviet Union and their allies. It was more of an ideology war as one communism was supported by the Soviet Union and capitalism was supported by the United States. The war was known as the cold war as none of the main power faced each other directly, instead helped their allied nation to fight against the allied nation of other. There are a number of conflicts that took place during the Cold War period like the Vietnam War, the Korean War, the Berlin Blockade, etc. The war ended with the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.
