The conflict lasted from the year 1618 to 1648, beginning as a conflict in most of the Protestants and Catholic states that shaped the Holy Roman Empire. However, because the Thirty Years’ War evolved, it has become much less regarding faith and extra regarding which institution could, in the end, govern Europe. In the end, the war modified the geopolitical face of Europe and the function of faith and realms in society.
