Which one is transition and substrate state? What must be true of a and b in order for catalysis to occur?
Which one is transition and substrate state? What must be true of a and b in order for catalysis to occur?
Enzyme that increases the rate of a chemical reaction by lowering the activation energy threshold for the reactants. According to the enzyme kinetics, only the reactant molecules which can reach above the threshold value of activation energy can take part in the chemical reaction. Enzymes form an intermediate bond with the reactant molecules to reduce the activation energy so that the reactant molecules can take forward the chemical reaction to give products. The catalyst itself remains unchanged before and after the reaction has been completed. Enzyme does not change the thermodynamic equilibrium of the reaction but only can catalyze it in a forward or backward way to attain equilibrium faster.
