Buddhism and Jainism are the two religions that were originated in the state of Bihar. So, here we will look one by one about the philosophy, beliefs and principles of these religions. 

The religion of Jainism was originated in the 5th century and since then it is practised in all over the world continuously. Lord Mahavir is considered as the father and the founder of the Jainism. Mahavira was the 24th and the last Teerthankar of Jainism people. The Jainism people are well known for their simple living and high esteem. The Three Jewels of Jainism are:

  1. Right Faith or Intentions: It is known as Samyak Darshana. According to the beliefs of Jainism people, a person who is having the perfect faith and correct direction about a particular thing will always possess stillness in his mind. He will not be bounded by the fear of death and will always be kind to other peoples. The religion says that one can aquire faith from even destruction.
  2. Right Knowledge: It is known as Samyak Gyana. The Jainism people have divided knowledge into five types which are sensory knowledge i.e. the knowledge based on senses, scriptual, knowledge, clairvoyance, the study of telepathy and omniscience. They believe that proper knowledge is mandatory for providing right guidance. 
  3. Right Conduct: It is known as Samyak Charitra and is the application of the knowledge that has developed through teachings.
