Ground Water
Ground water is mostly the water that is present beneath the surface of the earth. They can be found under the rocks or even between the voids/pores in the rocks. Ground water can be accumulated in one place or sometimes they can move from one place to another.
Source of ground water
Ground water is formed as the result of the water cycle phenomenon. When the rain fall occurs, the rainwater gets penetrated through the earth soil throughout the distance where it can penetrate. They get stored and accumulated into a specific location where there is a void beneath the earth surface. This process of penetration of rainwater towards the beneath of the ground through the soil is known to as precipitation.
Movement of ground water
As the water penetrates to the underground surface of the earth through the soil, the water moves through the aquifers which permits the flow of water through them. The water moves slowly through this type of aquifers and finally gets accumulated on a lower lying area in between the rocks. Usually hard rock surfaces are found at about 6000 feet beneath the earth surface. Through the process the wells gets filled by the ground water.
