What were the practical purposes and psychological meanings of the wall surrounding an early modern city?
Walls were made as a structure to provide security to a area and shelter to people or objects. It further became a fundamental part of any building surrounding it along around the city. The modern city came with the concept of walls which meant that the walls protected the people from invasion, attacks and gave a sense of security whereas it also contributed to purposes such as giving protection to people families, to cattle’s and people living in a community.
