What is your pooled sample variance? What is your estimated standard error?
I want to study whether or not distractions in the environment will affect memory performance. I recruit 25 students to take part in my study and I randomly assign them into one of two groups: a memory task in a distraction free environment or a memory task in an environment where several distractions will be presented. I measure the number of errors that each participant makes in their respective conditions. Test the hypothesis that those in the distracted group have more errors than those in the no distraction group at an alpha of 0.05.
