Took a 250 mL Erlenmeyer flask and a 50 mL graduated cylinder and added 45ml 6.0 M HCI to
the graduated cylinder, then transferred it to the flask. Closed the flask and added a pressure
gauge and thermometer. Initial measurements are as follows: pressure= 1.000 atm
temperature= 21.5 c
Took a balance and a 50 mL beaker, then placed the beaker on the balance (zeroed out). Added
0.100g of zinc to the beaker. Initial mass read on balance =0.100g. Transferred zinc in the
beaker to the 250ml flask with 6.0m HCI. The zinc dissolved and bubbled. The pressure
increased and so did the temp.
Once the flask cooled to room temp, the thermometer and pressure gauge were removed. A
gas syringe was then attached to the flask. The volume of gas syringe read 36.81 mL
