Expert Solution
Step 1
The brain controls thoughts, memory, speech, motor movements, and bodily functions. There are many parts of the brain, and each section has a specific role to play in the human body.
Four lobes make up the brain:
- The frontal lobe - the largest lobes, is responsible for motor skills, such as voluntary movement, language, and intellectual and behavioral functions. This area controls memory, intelligence, concentration, anger and personality.
- The temporal lobe - located on each side of the brain at ear level, is important for hearing, memory, and speech.
- The Parietal lobe - the center of the brain, is where sensory information such as temperature, pressure and pain is located and interpreted.
- Occipital lobe - located at the back of the brain, mainly for vision.
Brain lesions are a type of injury to any part of the brain. The sores can be caused by disease, trauma or birth defects. Sometimes sores appear on a part of the brain. In some cases, ulcers are present in a large portion of the brain tissue. Initially, brain lesions may not produce symptoms. As the lesions get worse over time, the symptoms become more noticeable.
