The second world war was not just fought based on military power, but also economic power. In a way, it was also a battle between the industrial capacities of the warring countries. The nation which was able to produce the maximum amount of weapons and other goods survived the war better than other countries. This in turn also depended on the amount of human labor available for work, and the output they could deliver in less time.
