What do you think it means to "pass" economically, religiously, ideologically, or through gender? explain Give at least two (2) examples
Today, people pass in a variety of ways, and not just racially. For example, some people regularly attempt to "pass" economically by pretending to be wealthy (when they are not), religiously by pretending to embody the principles of select religious organizations/ideologies (when they do not), ideologically by pretending to adhere to select social beliefs such as "woke" culture (when they do not), and in the adherence to socially-defined gender roles as a means of gaining approval and/or acceptance from one's peers or from a broader audience (when it is not consistent with their personal sense of identity).
