Thomas Fitzsimmons represented Pennsylvania in the Constitutional Convention which met in Philadelphia in 1787 to suggest amendments to the Articles of Confederation. However, the Constitutional Convention ended up drafting a new constitution replacing the Articles of Confederation. Fitzsimmons helped debate, draft, and sign the Constitution of the United States. He was one among the seven signers who were not born in the United States.
