Blood pressure is the pressure on the walls of the arteries created by blood as blood is pumped into the arteries. Blood pressure is measured in terms of systolic blood pressure (pressure in the arteries during heartbeats) and diastolic blood pressure (pressure in arteries during rest between heart beats).
The normal blood pressure is a 120(systolic)/80(diastolic) mmHg. The blood pressure above the normal level is referred to as hypertension and below the normal level is referred to as hypotension.
