Water flows at the rate of 5 t'is through an inclined pipe. At point A, where the diameter is 12 inches, the pressure is 15 psi. What is the pressure at point B where the diameter is 6 inches and the center of the pipe is 24 inches lower than at point A. A Draw a clear diagram of the pipe system that indicates the following: (a-1) water flow reflecting the quantities involved in describing fluid flow and (a- 2) the quantities that describe Bernoulli's equation. B. Write the Bernoul's Equation using subscripts U ad L for the upper and lower points respectively. Then determine the pressure at point 82
Fluid Pressure
The term fluid pressure is coined as, the measurement of the force per unit area of a given surface of a closed container. It is a branch of physics that helps to study the properties of fluid under various conditions of force.
Gauge Pressure
Pressure is the physical force acting per unit area on a body; the applied force is perpendicular to the surface of the object per unit area. The air around us at sea level exerts a pressure (atmospheric pressure) of about 14.7 psi but this doesn’t seem to bother anyone as the bodily fluids are constantly pushing outwards with the same force but if one swims down into the ocean a few feet below the surface one can notice the difference, there is increased pressure on the eardrum, this is due to an increase in hydrostatic pressure.
Write the Bernoulli’s Equation using subscripts U ad L for the upper and lower points respectively. Then determine the pressure at point B?
Note: Write the given data and the required quantity. Write the formula and solve for the required quantity. Encircle or box the final answer
