E2 stands for the, biomolecular elimination reaction. The -elimination reaction in which the removal of leaving group and proton takes place simultaneously is called E2 reaction.
Condition for E2 reaction is that the leaving group and the proton must be present at antiperiplanar to each other i.e. in opposite direction to each other.
