According to Dalton's law of partial pressure,

The pressure exerted by each gas in a gas mixture (its partial pressure) is independent of the pressure exerted by all other gases present. 

The total pressure exerted by a mixture of gases is the sum of the partial pressures of the components .

  • The percent of each gas in the total volume is the same as the percent of each partial pressure in the total pressure.

So, from the total pressure of a mixture of gases and its percent composition, we can calculate the partial pressure of the individual gases.
