Step 1: Identify the most acidic proton
The conjugate base is the species formed after the loss of a proton from an acid. The acidic strength of a particular proton is directly proportional to the stability of its conjugate base. The greater the stability of the conjugate base, the greater is its acidic strength. The most acidic proton is proton-c as it is stabilized by resonance with the electron withdrawing carbonyl (-C=O) group.
