I thought that your reflection on this week's material was thoughtful. I think you brought up an insightful point regarding that understanding the relation between pre-Islamic Saudi Arabia and pro-Islamic Arabia is important. I also completely agree with you that events such as 9/11 or the Spanish Inquisition and Crusades are a distortion of scripture and not religion -- that was well put.
One important thing I got out of this week's reading is that I never considered how Muslims are portrayed in the media and on the screen. These mediums surely influence American thoughts and lately, the focus has been on Muslims and terrorists of the middle east. I can only imagine how hard this makes things for Muslim people and especially immigrants who are trying to establish themselves in the United States.
