Raymond is known for his intellectual prowess, he was one of three students to grab the headlines when he graduated from Academy of Excellence eight years ago. His parole officer has just informed him that he will not be eligible for early release even though he has served 2 of the 3 years he was sentenced to complete for “Malpractice” Raymond’s girlfriend is very upset as they were planning on starting a family after he had completed his residency at the most advanced Medical Treatment and Hospice Care facility as a Geriatric Specialist. But the family of the elderly millionaire who fell into a coma as a result of his not clearly stating that this was a possibility, when he chose to promote an experimental drug by a well known pharmaceutical company for the man’s heart condition. Raymond continues to advocate that he did not receive any “kickback” for promoting the drug prescribed. but records show otherwise. Raymond is very dismayed by his own behavior which seemed to be quite natural in keeping with usual procedures at the time of his now labeled “unethical behavior”. The psychosocial support counselor gave Raymond an exercise to do which helped him to reflect on his thinking and motivation which led to his downward spiral and seems to be an obstacle to his achieving the third and fourth stage of the Hierarchy of Needs as Maslow postulated. He became reacquainted with the processes and realized that he erred in thinking they only applied to his life as a student.
