Expert Solution
Step 1

Enzymes are highly specialized proteins that act as a catalyst in the biological system, they are large globular proteins with a molecular weight ranging from 13,000 dalton to millions of daltons. They are highly specific each has its own optimum temperature and so on for maximum performance. Different types of enzymes are:-

1) Ligases- This enzyme works by joining two molecules with each other with the help of a chemical bond.

2) Oxireductases- It transfers the electrons from one molecule to another. The one which donates the electron is known as reductant and the one who accepts it known as the electron acceptor.

3) Isomerases- This enzyme converts a molecule from one isomeric form to another, the compound undergoes internal restructuring.

4) Lyase- This enzyme works by breaking chemical bonds by other methods other than hydrolysis.

5)Transferase- It helps in transferring of functional groups from one molecule to another.

6)Hydrolase- This enzyme uses water molecule to break the compound into two, by breaking the chemical bonds in between.
