Scutosaurus is the armor covered anapsid pareiasaur reptile which is also known as "jowly reptiles". It belongs to the genus of parareptiles which means large plates of armor scattered across its body. It can hold its legs underneath its body to support its body weight. It was first discovered in Siberia in 1922. It the largest plant-eater of its time i.e Permian Era. These can be related to turtles and tortoises but not to dinosaurs. The body scutosaurus consists of wrinkles, very large osteoderms on their backs, a large skull with chisel-like teeth which help them to feed on vegetation, and a short tail.
