In 1775, Olive Branch Petition was put forth by the Second Continental Congress. This was an attempt to prevent the war between the 13 American colonies and the colonizer, Great Britain. The petition aimed to make  King George III stops the conflict, and so that Americans remain loyal to Great Britain. The constitutional congress sent the letter to the king to make the king understand their problems. King Goerge III lost his land in America due to this petition.
