Expert Solution
Step 1

Part A

The molar mass of C2F(tetrafluoroethylene) is equal to 100 g/mol. The number of moles of C2Fin the given amount.

   n= (5.56g) / (100 g/mol) = 0.0556 mols C2F4

The number of molecules per mol is calculated through the equation,

(0.0556 mols) x (6.022x1023)

since there are 4 F atoms of each molecule then,

(0.0556 mols) x (6.022x1023)(4)

=1.34x1023 atoms of F

Next part exercise 3.107

Hydrocarbons are (b) option only

Functionalized hydrocarbons are (a),(c),(d)
