Transcribed Image Text:**Bird Wing Trait Study**
I was also able to trace the lineage of a family of these remarkable Rabandu birds, this time a group expressing the clawed wing trait. It was quite the fascinating task!
The matriarch of the family is Snippy, a normal-winged female, and her mate is Chomp, a normal-winged male. These were their offspring:
- **Spotina:** Female, normal winged
- **Reginald:** Male, clawed winged
- **Duke:** Male, normal wing
- **Genie:** Female, normal wing
Genie mated with Jasper, a normal-winged male, and they had seven offspring. Three of the offspring were normal-winged males, three were normal-winged females, and one was a clawed-wing male. Reginald mated with Honeydew, a normal-winged female, and they had three offspring. Two were normal-winged males, and one was a normal-winged female.
*Please let me know what you find out; it could be quite the discovery if we can figure out how these traits are inherited!*
**Diagram Explanation:**
The diagram to the right illustrates a bird’s wing, with notes indicating that the claws seem to be used for climbing and grasping branches. This suggests an evolutionary advantage or adaptation related to their environment and behavior.
