Into what areas of the West were Americans expanding (westward expansion)
The discovery of America is considered to be one of the turning point in the overall development of human history. In other words, the discovery itself redefined the notion of the world in many ways. Christopher Columbus was the man behind the discovery. In fact, he was on the search for a safe sea route to India, and he did not know that he had found out a new territory. Thus, the discovery of America is purely by accident. After the discovery, colonization period began. European countries exploited the land for a quite long period of time. After getting freedom from the Great Britain, America began to it's true power.
