The mistakes that has doomed the radioshack:
1. Cell phone kiosk:
RadioShack has failed to keep with personal computer revolution that came out during 1980s to 1990s from competitors. The hardware business turned out to be an unprofitable segment. RadioShack stopped producing of computers during the year of 1993, and to escalate the profit, it switched to cell phones. The stores took about 45 minutes for signing up, per person, which lead to a ground of frustration for the store's core customers, and thus the revenue started to drop down, as others started stopped relying on RadioShack and started their own competing stores.
2. E-commerce issues:
It started ship to store model, in which customers were being allowed to buy from online in 2006. But at that time Amazon was a giant force related to internet retailing business. RadioShacks never indulged into e commerce like it's competitors, as it was dealing with various problems related to stores.
3. Confusion in marketing:
The word "Shack" has led to a confusing marketing decisions someone called it as a lousy name, that curtailed the brand image.
4. Wrong mix of inventory:
RadioShack generally pushed glitzy looking products in front, that completely failed to catch the eyes of customers.
