Identify the: Indep. Variable Visual distraction Dep.variable Reaction time Statistical Hypotheses: H0: H0= 0 H1: H1 ≠ 0 Proper t-test Paired sample t test One-tailed or two-tailed? Two tailed
Problem 2: Distraction & Performance
To test the effect of visual distraction on reaction time, a researcher tests a group of 15 subjects under two conditions. In the control condition, the subjects have to press a key as soon as they can when a target stimulus appears on a blank computer screen. In the experimental condition, the subjects are given the same task, but a target stimulus always appears surrounded by other distractor stimuli. Reaction time is measured in milliseconds in both conditions. The scores are shown below. Test whether the distractors affected reaction time using a t-test.

Identify the:
Indep. Variable Visual distraction Dep.variable Reaction time
Statistical Hypotheses: H0: H0= 0 H1: H1 ≠ 0
Proper t-test Paired sample t test One-tailed or two-tailed? Two tailed
In addition to the t-test, make a line graph that shows the two conditions across all subjects. Print your output and write your conclusion in APA format based on the statistical test results.
