Identify the bones 1 6 2 3.
The skeletal system of the body consists of bones and joints. The bones are the vital body parts that are responsible for providing structural support to the soft tissues and organs present in the body. In an adult human body, there are a total of 206 bones that form the skeleton. This skeleton system, apart from providing body support, also facilitates the movement of the body by interacting with the muscular system of the body. The tendon is a fibrous connective tissue responsible for connecting muscle to bone, therefore connecting the two systems. The bones of the skeletal system are connected to each other by joints. Thus, the point of contact at which two bones meet is called a joint. The joints are also referred to as articulations as the bones are articulated with each other at a joint. The formation of joints between two bones is facilitated by the ligament. A ligament is a dense, white band of fibrous elastic tissue which connects one end of the bone to the other to form a joint. The ligament is responsible for cushion formation between bones at the joints therefore preventing the dislocation of the joint.
