Wrong answer: when adding or subtracting neutrons form an atom it doesn’t result for a new formationof a new element. Rather it transform that element into a heavier of lighter version because the isotope are distinct and etc Atomic mass = number of neutrons + numbers of protons heavier isotope =42 neutrons (Gi) regular atoms neutrons = 42 -2 = 42 neutrons number of electrons in Gi + ^2 =40 number of electrons in regular atom 40-2 = 38 electrons here Gi +^2 has to lose 2 electrons so that it’s the normal state that is Gi the number of electrons = number of protons so the atomic mass of Gi atom = 40 + 38 = 78 Then I have to explain why this is wrong and try to do it correct and explain why it’s correct
