Expert Solution
Step 1

To solve above problem, one should know how to find equivalent resistance for series and parallel circuit.

For Series circuit equivalent resistance is

Series connection: When positive terminal of a element is connected with negative terminal of other element and this series continues then those elements are said to be in series connection. In series connection the current remain same through all the elements and voltage is divided among them.

Req=R1+R2+R3+...........

For parallel circuit equivalent resistance is (two resistances in parallel)

Parallel connection: When all the positive terminals of a elements are joint together and negative terminals are joint together to form a single positive and negative terminal then the elements are said to be in parallel connection. For parallel connection the voltage across each element remains the same but the current is divided among them.

Req=R1×R2R1+R2
