Question

How did most Puritans view the separation of church and state?

Expert Solution
Introduction

Puritans were members of a reform movement of the 16th century who wanted to purify the Church of England from all Roman Catholic influences. These extreme Protestants believed that the Church of England was more or less similar to the Roman Catholic Church. They wanted to eliminate the rituals and ceremonies that didn't have relevance to Bible. Faced with religious intolerance and persecution in England, they migrated to the New England colonies in North America.
