Commerce Clause was entered to address the problems of the interstate trade barriers and the ability to enter into trade agreements. It also helps to regulate commerce with foreign Nations and other states. The clause is present in Article 1 section 8 of the United States Constitution. In 1887, the Interstate Commerce Act came into existence as federal law was designed to regulate the railroad industry. But years later several clauses were added to cover the whole interstate commerce.
