Here is the problem:  homeownders claim that the mean speed of automobiles traveling on their street is greater than the speed limit of 35 miles per hour.  A random sample of 100 automobiles has a mean speed of 36 miles per hour.  Assume the population standard deviation is 4 miles.  Is there enough evidence to support the claim at beta = 0.05? Use P-value.

Hello,

I am needing help with 7.2, Example 4- try it yourself.

Here is the problem:

homeownders claim that the mean speed of automobiles traveling on their street is greater than the speed limit of 35 miles per hour.  A random sample of 100 automobiles has a mean speed of 36 miles per hour.  Assume the population standard deviation is 4 miles.  Is there enough evidence to support the claim at beta = 0.05? Use P-value.

The answer here only shows how to get the solution via minitab or something like that.  I would like it written out because I am getting something completely different.

Thank you.
