No. 2. A clevis-type hanger supports a pipe as shown
in Figure 2. The hanger rod has a diameter of 12
mm. The bolt connecting the top yoke and the bottom
strap has a diameter of 16 mm. The bottom strap is 5
mm thick by 45 mm wide by 900 mm long. The weight
of the pipe is 9 000 N. Determine the following:
(a) the normal stress in the hanger rod
(b) the shear stress in the bolt
(c) the bearing stress in the bottom strap
