- For example, we can mix salt (polar substance) with water (polar substance) and can make a saltwater solution. But we can't mix oil into the water.
- The reason why oil (a nonpolar substance) doesn't mix with water (a polar substance) is that it lacks the polar part.
- From the above examples, it can state that a polar substance can mix with another polar substance but not with a nonpolar substance. Like that a nonpolar substance only can mix with a nonpolar substance but never with a polar substance.
