Reabsorption refers to the process in which absorption occurs again within the kidney of certain substances. Substances like glucose, proteins and sodium get reabsorbed by the renal tubules in the kidney.
Step 2
The reabsorption of glucose and other nutrients occur within the proximal tubule of the kidney. The reabsorption of glucose occurs through glucose transporter present within the plasma membrane of proximal tubules. The reabsorption can occur actively, such as in glucose which utilizes adenosine triphosphate, and can occur passively, which do not utilizes adenosine triphosphate.
