Party realignment in terms the United States politics play is referred to as a situation in which a political party remains in power for a specific time period as if it is has made its dominance and then some other political party turns up after sometime by breaking the legacy of the previous one and the 'other' political party stays in power for sometime and then again there is a power shift. One-party Republican dominance is a phenomenon which defines the nature of winning elections and being in power of Republican political party of the United States. In specific it means that Republican party winning majority number of votes and coming to power by forming the government.
