Expert Solution
Introduction

The theory of evolution is the most basic and fundamental theory of biology. Evolution is the process through which the species originated are due to modifications in successive generations. The theory of evolution was formulated by Charles Darwin in his publication 'The origin of Species'.

The factors of Darwin theory of evolution are:

  1. Overpopulation (rapid multiplication): All organisms possess enormous fertility. They multiply in geometric ratio differential reproduction.
  2. Limited food and space: Despite rapid multiplication, food and space and other resources remain constant.
  3. The struggle of existence: It can be of the following three types intraspecies, interspecies, and environmental struggles.
  4. Variation: No two individuals are similar and their requirement is different.
  5. Inheritance of useful variation: The organism after getting fitted to the surroundings, transmits its useful variation to the next generation, while the non-useful variations are eliminated.
  6. Formation of new species: According to Darwin, useful variations are transmitted to the offspring and appear more prominently in successive generations.
  7. Selection of nature: The new species with favorable variation are selected by nature called natural selection.
