The Iroquois are an indigenous tribe of North America that originally lived near Lake Ontario and the Mohavac River in New York. It is believed that during the 1600s members of five tribes allied together into a single one and were collectively called Iroquois. They together found a new religion and named it the Longhouse religion. The women of the tribe were in charge of the family and property while the men were in charge of defending the tribe.
