CASE STUDY 5: JUSTIFICATION OF A WRONG ACTION
Faizudin has currently been promoted as an assistant manager for
Pasir Putih Development Bhd. One of his responsibilities is to
randomly review the overtime claims made by the employees of
the company. He is responsible to make sure that all the claims are
justified. From his random check, he discovered a claim containing
false items. The claim was made by Regina Lee.
Regina can be considered as a very loyal employee with a lot of
contribution for the organization. However,
investigation, Faizudin found that Regina has asked for a salary
increment based on her contribution, experience and loyalty to the
organization but the management had ignored her request.

had falsified the claim. However, she had to do so because her only
child aged fifteen years ole urgently needed some money for her
operation. Regina further added that she had just wanted to borrow
the money in this most critical moment and she would pay back
when she has extra money.
