Cardiovascular diseases CVD also called as coronary artery disease is caused due to the the increased atherosclerosis that is formation of fatty plaques in the coronary arteries. Leading cause of mortality in middle-aged and elderly adults.

The process of atherosclerosis is is increased by several risk factors they are mainly of two categories they are non modifiable risk factors and modifiable risk factors. 

Under the non modifiable risk factors come the the age, sex ,genetic factors. 

The modifiable risk factors are the ones which can be changed they are smoking ,high blood pressure, inactivity ,obesity, Diabetes mellitus, serum cholesterol .
