Pathogenicity
Infection and Transmission
The infections are generated by the pathogenic organisms present in the environment. They maintain the capacity to invade a host body and establish colonies. A disease caused by such infectious agents is called a communicable disease or transmissible disease. These diseases spread through diverse means including blood, food, water, air, or vectors.
Describe four enzymes produced by Staphylococcus, and explain how each contributes to the bacterium’s survival and pathogenicity.

Enzymes are biological catalysts that help in catalyzing or speeding up biological reactions by reducing their activation energy. They catalyze the reactions without themselves taking part in it, meaning they add to the reaction and get removed in the product as it is. Enzymes are proteins. Enzymes are highly specific. Meaning they bind to only those substrates that have an active site. Also, these enzymes are functional only at a certain pH and temperature. Since they are proteins, they change their conformation by change in pH and temperature and therefore lose their activity.
