Japan attacked pearl harbor in the USA on Dec 7, 1941. The US became wary of this move of Japan and declared war on it. The USA immediately started its campaign in Japan's occupied territories and started helping European countries with money and arms.
The incident of pearl harbor marked the official entry of the USA in World War II. With America's entry into the war, Europe gained the lost confidence and fought back vigorously against Hitler and the Japanese occupation.
