Expert Solution
Step 1
Somatic or somatoform disorders involve a person experiencing physical symptoms like pain or fatigue and it causes emotional distress and problems in functioning. It is a mental disorder and its physical symptoms cannot be explained by any medical reasons, however those are not the only grounds for diagnosis. A person may be excessively worrying about their symptoms and may have had unexplainable symptoms recurring for the past 6 months.
Dissociative disorders are conditions where there are disruptions in memory, awareness, identity, or perception. These dissociations may occur as a defensive response to something traumatic that may have occurred, or on the other hand, there may be no such trigger at all.
